The late Art Carter, then Editor of Sporting Classics magazine, having traveled the world for 25 years, approached Russell Moccasin in 1995 and requested a special multipurpose shoe... one handsome enough to be worn while traveling yet versatile enough to literally step off an airplane and be worn afield for a day of shooting. We went to work on his request.
The Art Carter Traveling Sportsman by Russell is a unique chukka style featuring built in heel counters, a comfortable cushion collar, a grippy Vibram Air-Bob sole, water resistant double vamp construction, a supportive hand molded outer sole, and an extra wide cut gusset for variable-tightness lacing. The entire shoe is fashioned from buttery-soft heirloom French Veal leather
the fine grained, long lasting leather that remains soft and supple for a lifetime. If youre a traveling sportsman.....a pair of these fine shoes is a modern day necessity.
Russell Moccasin and the outdoor world lost a valued friend when Art Carter unexpectedly passed away, July 27, 2003. The shoe that carries his name will continue to honor his life.
