Signature South 40 Bird Shooter ^Sale

The tale behind original South 40 was written in the pheasant fields of South Dakota in 1983-1984. Introduced in 1984, the Russell South 40 Bird Shooter was an instant success and served bird hunters well for nearly 25 years.

We fitted the Signature South 40 with a low profile Vibram 360 Force sole that provides better balance, stability and ground feel. We replaced the original outside molded sole with a heavy duty 6-1/2 oz. bullhide leather. And to make long days afield chasing birds behind spirited dogs a joy, we built in a Poron Technical foam layer between the molded sole and the vamps.  Poron underfoot softens up the walk considerably, a feature you will enjoy at the end of a long day.

The South 40 features Double Vamp with a Molded Sole construction, commonly referred to as Triple Vamp. Made from water-resistant WeatherTuff Leather, it also boasts a fully leather lined upper, and quick lacing studs.
