Designed to provide support and comfort for the hours spent
shooting a round of sporting clays over all types of terrain, the Sporting Clays Chukka fills that "what-should-I-wear" gap between a boat shoe and a boot. For decades our team at Russell has outfitted competitive shooters, and many of our craftsmen have shot competitively as well. Footwear for this purpose must be comfortable, stable, and dependable in the elements. Luckily the necessary characteristics for a good shooting shoe also carry over into many applications. The Chukka platform is an ideal starting point for a shoe meant for outdoor use as it is plenty tall to keep dust and leaves out of your socks, but still short enough to make lacing a breeze. It laces quickly with one pull due to the three antique brass eyelets. Used on our PH boots, the addition of a Molded Sole adds side-to side stability and has the benefit of making the bottom of the shoe more water-resistant. Between the shoe vamp and the Molded Sole, a Poron slip sole is layered for shock absorption during long days on your feet. Beneath the shoe, a sturdy Double Stack Midsole and Vibram 2060 outsole raise the height of the shoe which furthers the stability and water-resistance. On the exterior, the leather of choice for this run was a waxy full-grain Nutmeg Oil-tan leather which has a beautiful pullup and will become softer over time. The lining is a caramel full-grain pigskin for a glove-like feel and the ability to clean the interior.
