The Leather
Utilizing one of our favorite leathers from Horween, the Rust Laramie Zephyr is the ideal moccasin boot for the sportsman, farmer, or craftsman. The Horween Roughout leather is excellent for daily wear and outdoor use, as it is extremely resistant to scuffing and scratching. Wear them in the workshop, bush hogging on the tractor, or with jeans on the go.
The Construction
Combining the rugged good looks of the Cavalier, with several modifications for everyday convenience, the Zephyr is the original zipper-back moccasin. The zipper closure allows for off-and-on speed and permits snugger fit around the leg.
This Zephyr includes Russell's signature Double Vamp construction for added water resistance and includes a Poron sock liner for shock absorption. A hand molded oak-leather heel counter helps keep the foot firmly in place.
As always, the handsewn Russell Overlap seams on the toe pieces provide a water resistant and sporty exterior. With all these features now standard, the Zephyr continues to be our undisputed "daily driver".
Pro-Tip From The Workshop
The buckle is there for more than just good looks! Use the buckle just like you would laces, to help cinch down and keep your foot in place or to provide a looser fit based on your preference. Unbuckle the boot before putting it on to avoid overstretching the strap.
The Sole
The sole construction features an oak-leather midsole and a rubber liner midsole. This new "double midsole" does a much better job of stiffening the arch for better support and is designed to ensure the Zephyr can be easily resoled throughout the life of boot. Beneath the midsole is a classic Vibram Oxford outsole. The low profile and classic looks of this sole combination make it great for pairing with business casual attire. Since the Zephyr is designed for flat to mild terrain, the minimal tread of the Oxford also helps prevent mud from caking on the sole.
