This review regards my initial impressions after wearing my new Oneidas for several months. I'll start by pointing out my reason for ordering these is probably not ordinary. I wanted these mocs to replace a pair well worn deck shoes on their last leg. I specifically needed comfortable easy on easy off shoes with soles that do not grab and hold onto debris. I'm working on a home remodel which has me going in and out of the house often while cutting and putting up trim work. My wife is super tolerant of this but of course she insists on me not tracking the outside into her home. I suspected that the Oneidas would provide the comfort I liked with the easy wiping clean of my shoes necessity. Pricey for work shoes, but hey, I'm at the point of my life where I appreciate longevity, and simplicity lol. The break-in was mainly stretching them as I wore them, making the needed adjustments to the laces as it went. So far I can report that these mocs have been and done everything I hoped for. I started only going out as far as onto the front porch and back in while using the chop saw, now I am comfortable walking back and forth from the shop across all manner of dry terrain. No hint of excessive wear to soles, and they remain super easy to wipe my feet coming back in. Easy on easy off, and light weight comfort are a given. I love the well made construction and materials as well. Could I have picked up two pair of deck shoes for the cost of these mocs? Sure, but I don't think they would have satisfied my needs nearly as conveniently. Glad I made the purchase.

Everything from Russell is absolutely excellent.

VERY well made, went with my boot size, and its slightly tight, so if you prefer a roomier fit, you might want to go up 1/2 a size in D width or just get your Brannock size in E width.

Other than that, very nice feel right out of the box, came with a shoe bag, and is my third pair of items from Russell, with plans for a fourth in about a month!

After nearly five months, my Backcountry Premier Build boots arrived — and they were well worth the wait. The quality of the boot construction is outstanding and the supreme comfort right out of the box has been astounding. I am so pleased with the purchase. If you are considering a Backcountry Premier Build purchase, I highly recommend you move forward on the decision.
