We recommend ordering 1/2 size smaller than your Brannock Size. See our Size Guide for details.
TAKE TIME TO CONFIRM YOUR SIZE
The number one issue people have ordering Russells is ordering too large because they don't know their Brannock size. Your tennis shoe size is NOT your Brannock size. Our team is ready to assist so we have the best chance to get it right the first try.
MODEL DETAILS
Developed for Safari clients in the 1960s, the famous Russell Bird Shooter was adapted with quarters made from heavyweight cotton twill and a low-drop sole for stalking. Ultra-lightweight and breathable, it was an instant success for long distance treks and dangerous game hunts. In 2011 Paul Stones, a PH who walks more than 1,200 miles per year, requested that we make him a Safari Boot with the added protection, water-resistance, and comfort of our Double Vamp Construction. We have incorporated Paul's custom upgrades to be the new standard of the Russell Safari. This new variation combines the lightweight comfort of the original, while providing greater performance for day-to-day wear in a variety of scenarios.
Included with our Double and Triple Vamp Boots
A pair of Comfort Insoles is included with our Double and Triple vamp Models. Use is optional, however they are an excellent way to make slight adjustments to the boot fit and add shock absorption.
Double Vamp Construction
4) Inner Vamp
Our unique sock-like liner that seals the interior of our performance footwear. This true moccasin layer is hand-lasted and makes the boot incredibly water-resistant and comfortable.
1) Outer Vamp
This is the primary moccasin layer that forms the core of all our footwear. Hand lasted from the bottom-up, it wraps all the way underneath the foot for the ultimate flexibility and comfort.
2) Overlap Seam
Patented in 1910 at Russell, the Overlap seam protects the joint between the vamp and plug. Hand sewn for nearly two hours per pair, it is highly water-resistant and differentiates Russells from Maine Moccasins.
