The Shoe
More capable than the Oneida, and lighter weight than the B-52, the Lake Loafer hits a sweet-spot of comfort and class. Designed for the adventurous traveler, the Lake Loafer is easily packable and features many of the materials found in our Safari PH boots for enhanced durability. Whether you enjoy fly fishing, canoeing, or cruising mountain lakes in a vintage wooden boat, the Lake Loafer has you covered. The sleek design looks great with shorts, but is easy to dress up under khakis for an evening out.
The Leather
The knapped Bronze Chamois leather from Horween is oiled, soft, and durable. This leather is well known for it's primary use in our PH boots built for African Big Game safaris. It dries easily and has a matte finish that is effortlessly maintained with an occasional conditioning of Pecards. This leather molds quickly to the foot making it a joy from the first wear.
The Construction
Made as a Single Vamp moccasin on our 77 Last, the Lake Loafer is crafted as a Single Vamp Moccasin with boot-thickness leather to ensure durability in the long term. Unique to Russell Moccasin, this loafer has a handsewn Overlap seam that provides structure and water resistance. Designed to go the distance, it features the same heel lift and midsole as our Professional Hunter safari boot.
The Sole
Vibram's Mini-Ripple sole has been a classic at Russell for more than a half century. The grippy compound works well in wet environments, has a long wear life, and is still thin enough to maintain excellent ground feel. This is especially important while getting in and out of boats, hopping across streams, and feeling the accelerator while driving mountain roads.
