This Single Vamp + Molded Sole construction is an excellent blend of protection and light weight design. The Leather
Over the last year we have worked with our long-time partners at S.B. Foot Tannery to redevelop our classic leather color and feel. The resulting leather, Walnut Timberjack, is highly water resistant, patinas beautifully, and is a wonderful balance of performance and good looks.
The Construction
The Zephyr II features Russell's signature Single Vamp with a Molded Sole construction (See the Process Page for details). This configuration provides plenty of protection and durability, while keeping the boot lighter and more flexible than Double Vamp construction. Like the PH, it is fantastic in the summertime. In addition the Zephyr II has a Poron sock liner for shock absorption and all day comfort. As always, the handsewn Russell Overlap seams on the toe pieces provide a water resistant and sporty exterior.
The Sole
The Zephyr II has our classic Vibram Aspen Gumlite outsole with a low profile rubber midsole. It is an ideal combination of grip, comfort, and durabilty.
