This review might not make much difference because today I learned Russell was removing this classic build chukka from their line up for a while. First, the online measuring app was spot on. Out of the box, these chukkas felt a bit snug in the width (D) but after a couple wears that was no longer a concern. The only problem I had was the fourth toe of both feet rubbing against the top of the toe box. After walking about 10 or 12 miles, that’s no longer a problem, either. My feet definitely appreciate the bottom-up, versus the top-down, construction of these boots. It’s like the leather is wrapping around my feet as I break them in. The Vibram 2060 sole adds to the overall comfort by absorbing a lot of the impact of my feet on the sidewalk. Finally, these chukkas are lightweight but sturdy and a breeze to put on and take off. If you’re looking for a quality shoe made in the USA, but isn’t a six-inch plus heritage style boot, pull the trigger on this one.
