The Shoe
The Russell Oneida has been continuously produced since the early 1900's. During WWI and the following years of the Dirigible's use in the military, the Oneida was purchased by the U.S. Army for the workers building airships. The smooth but tough molded leather outsoles were essential to prevent any tears in the fabric skin as the balloons were produced.
After more than 100 years, we have found quite a few more uses for this utilitarian design. The heavyweight bullhide leather Molded Sole provides plenty of protection while maintaining excellent ground-feel. It is for this reason that the Oneida makes a wonderful driving moccasin, and many bowhunters bring a pair for situations when silent stalking is necessary. After a day in the field, it is the perfect shoe to wear around the camp or lodge. Factory re-soleable. Built on the 77 last.
The Leather
Made from water-resistant, full-grain Walnut Timberjack leather. Over time it will patina and darken to a beautiful deep brown. Condition with Obenaufs or Pecards.

Oneida Moccasin - 6 / E
Like buttah. I did a lot of research. I mean a LOT. I spent nearly a year hovering over the purchase, looking up more information, and finally pulled the trigger. Now I dont want to take them off. Beautiful, comfortable, classic.
I own two pairs of Onieda Moc’s one sized to wear with heavy wool socks that I wear outside daily until we get a significant snow,to and from work (driving), then I wear them as house shoes through the winter. My other pair I wear sock less all summer for casual activities. Big fan of both and would highly recommend.
The only thing about these moccasins that I regret is having to occasionally take them off.. this is my second set of Russell’s along with my pecos south 40s.. I’m officially hooked and gonna pull the trigger soon on some back country’s next to round it off on all three. But now I know better than to think that’ll satiate anything.
Very happy! They are amazing quality and I have no doubt in my mind these will last the test of time
I used the sizing app and ordered a pair. Too small. I suspected they would be but thought I'd accept apps opinion. I have a pair of custom South 40 boots, but they are built on a different last. The app came up with a size 1.5 sizes smaller than my normal, store bought shoe size.
No matter, sent back, sized up .5 and after a very short break in period, they fit like gloves.
The workmanship is outstanding. The seams are straight, clean and true. The walnut timberjack is fine leather, uniform and without marks.
They are expensive footwear, that is worth the price. I wear them every day and I suspect they will out last me.
